TREASURE TROVE IN HILTINGBURY!
All good cooks know that a beef casserole without a bay leaf is like an egg without salt. Bay Leaves Larder in Hiltingbury Road, Chandler's Ford, offers all the flavours you could want, inspiring the most cautious of cooks. I popped in to see for myself and half an hour later I'd discovered hidden treasures. I bought a pretty bottle of lavender sugar, some natural liquorice, a range of unusual bread flours, and even a retro Heinz treacle sponge in a tin!
Sarah Guilder and her friendly staff cater for every need. Her home made cakes and biscuits are temptingly displayed at the counter and sandwiches and Ploughman's are available too. Before you know it you're wandering around the shop unearthing more hidden treasures. Only need a couple of bananas, a loaf and some Hampshire cheese? That's fine.
This is a Community Store as well as a top class Deli so everyone is welcome. I even spotted a display of pet treats!
Hiltingbury without Bay Leaves Larder would definitely lack flavour. I challenge you to leave without being inspired, and, who knows? You might even start that Christmas shopping?
Sarah also offers superb outside catering.
