Crowning Glory for Old Basing Pub

Added on 06 December 2012

The Crown in Old Basing has been awarded the accolade of being recommended in the 2013 Michelin guide, as well as the Michelin Eating out at Pubs Guide.

The team of four chefs at The Crown are from the Basingstoke area and originally trained at Basingstoke College of Technology. They are passionate about using local produce and work hard on finding the right suppliers with the best quality in the local area, and are now proud to be part of Hampshire Fare. The county food group helps businesses like The Crown source local produce from its range of local food and drink producers.

Pub Manager Fallon Sherfield said:' This is such a great accolade for our Chefs and very well deserved. We opened 20 months ago and we have worked hard to ensure that every element of what we do grows from strength to strength. The Chefs and all the team at The Crown have a real passion for food and our aim is to ensure that the village pub offers a warm welcome with great food and friendly service every time you visit.'

The Crown is taking advantage of the Michelin accolade by hosting a series of Gourmet evenings and plans are also underway in 2013 for an extension to the kitchen and a restaurant refurbishment.
