Come rain or shine this weekend will see farms across the country open their gates to the public to celebrate Open Farm Sunday. So gather your friends and family and head out to explore the world of farming and find out the story behind your food.

Here’s a taster of some of the Hampshire farms taking part. You can also search for what’s going on where on the Open Farm Sunday website.
 

Leckford Estate The Waitrose Farm, 10am-4pm
Leckford Estate, Abbotts Manor Dairy, Hampshire, SO20 6DD
Free entry

Cows and calves at the dairy. Live milking (pm only). 
A look at mushroom production and the variety of mushrooms available.
Rapeseed oil production; growing, producing and making feed for our cattle.
Farm machinery display both old and new.
Learn about the crops grown at Leckford; the different seasons and the work of the Crops team. Learn about the type of crops used in food.
Hear about how we look after the environment and the conservation work we do on the Estate.
Guided Farm tours.
Farm walk and activities for the children.
Refreshments and food available
Pop up shop selling Leckford and local produce

£1 per person entry fee with proceeds being donated to Binsted & Bentley Football Club and Binsted Cricket Club). No booking required.

Visit a working Organic Farm. Self- Guided walking Farm Trail, Tractor and Trailer Farm Tours, to see the animals, children's activities, shearing display, barbecue, drinks, ice creams and tea and cakes available to purchase.

Tractor Ted Bouncy Castle plus Digger Den and Bouncy animals and a Giant Ted Puzzle 
Tractor and trailer rides around the farm to see our livestock including pigs, sheep, cows and calves
Cookery school field kitchen for children to get creative and hands on 
Butchery & Cookery demonstrations  
Big Green Egg & Weber BBQ demonstrations
Hog roasts with all the trimmings and barbecues running throughout the day selling Newlyns famous burgers and sausages or have lunch in café
Food stalls selling the best produce from all over Hampshire

Calling all junior horticulturists to plant seeds and take home to nurture.
