Fordingbridge
Fordingbridge is often referred to as the northern gateway to The New Forest. Sat in stunning countryside, this small riverside town is as historic as it is vibrant.
Built on the banks of the River Avon, Fordingbridge was recorded in the Domesday Book under the name ‘Forde’. Upstream from that ford is a seven-arched medieval bridge that has spanned the river for centuries and has become one of many iconic scenes of The New Forest.

Fordingbridge Fudge
Mike and Jackie Offord are the husband and wife team behind Fordingbridge Fudge. Together they craft the most delicious, traditional, luxury homemade fudge using the best locally sourced and totally natural ingredients.
From locally-sourced milk and cream, they make around 25 flavours including: Baileys and sea salted caramel; New Forest honey and cream; coconut; liquorice; mint or orange chocolate; and fruit flavours such as lemon or passion fruit.
Available from their shop at Fordingbridge, online from their website and at some Hampshire farmers markets. You can often find these delights at local farm shops, pubs and restaurants if you’re out about too.
Moody Cow, legen’dairy’ hand-crafted gelato
You can enjoy fresh gelato, frozen yoghurt, or sorbet from the fun Moody Cow Fordingbridge shop – or from shops, restaurants and pubs in the area.
Their flavour list is mindblowing: blackcurrant and clotted cream; Ferrero Rocher; cherry choc; candyfloss and marshmallow; bubblegum; or fudge brownie – and many more. They also have a vegan range.
Never tried gelato? It’s amazing – denser, smoother, and served at a warmer temperature than ice cream. If you get the change to try one, dont turn it down!

Wildewood Bakery specialises in the creation of cookies and traybakes as well as celebration cakes for pubs, cafe’s and restaurants locally as well as for those looking for a sweet treat.
They are firm supporters of local and champion locally sourced ingredients especially other producers of Hampshire Fare.
