A market town with a yachty vibe and great food and drink
Lymington and its villages
On the southern edge of the New Forest, Lymington is a vibrant yachty market town with cobbled streets, a bustling sailing harbour, a traditional high street and historic Georgian architecture.
Its foodie Saturday market which has had a charter since 1250, closes the high street to cars to make way for more than 100 stalls selling all kinds of produce.
The town, and its local villages of Sway and Keyhaven and are of course home to Hampshire Fare members – it’s a must visit for anyone coming to the New Forest, especially if you’re a foodie!

The Commanche Barbecue, Grill & Steakhouse

The Commanche is a prime cut mobile catering company offering exceptional tastes of the region, through smoke, flame and grill, all fuelled by kiln-dried wood and lump charcoal.
They bring the food, the furniture, the feasting and sometimes the fiddles. For parties, gatherings, pop-ups, festivals, shows or weddings, they take their custom-made Comanche smoking trailer and drum barbecues and transform your own space into a deep south barn-style cook-off.
Using only the best produce, sourced locally from their local butcher – from aged beef sirloin to New Forest Pannage pork, they pile in a whole load of love and passion to each dish. They smoke low and slow for incredible tenderness, as well as hot and fast for that flamed roasted flavour. All dishes are accompanied by individually designed sides, each with a unique Comanche flavour.
