The Iron Duke

The Iron Duke takes its name from the 1st Duke of Wellington, standing proudly within the historic Wellington Estate – still home to the 9th Duke, today.

Once a workers’ building for estate staff, the pub has been thoughtfully restored and brought back to life in 2025. Its original character and charm remain, while the new Iron Duke offers a warm, welcoming space for locals, visitors, families, and food lovers alike.

Set amid the rolling Hampshire countryside in the village of Stratfield Saye, just a short drive from Reading and Basingstoke, The Iron Duke is a place you discover once, and return to often.
