AO by Daniel Rogan
AO by Daniel Rogan first launched outside of Southampton in 2022 before reopening on Southampton’s Oxford Street in November 2025 following an extensive refurbishment, which introduced a new open kitchen and redesigned interiors.
Daniel Rogan’s menu showcases seasonality, sustainability and close relationships with suppliers, with a particular focus on ingredients and producers from Hampshire and the South Coast. Guests can choose from a three-course lunch or five, seven and ten-course tasting menus, each available with wine or non-alcoholic pairings.
Named after Daniel Rogan’s children, AO combines refined dining with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The relaunch marked AO’s new chapter as part of Umbel Hospitality, a restaurant group founded by Daniel’s father, chef and restaurateur, Simon Rogan.
Born and raised in Southampton, Daniel Rogan’s journey began in the kitchen of L’Enclume and Rogan & Co before he honed his skills further at prestigious kitchens including Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley and 3* Restaurant Gordon Ramsay.
Daniel is no stranger to accolades, being recognised on a national level with The Staff Canteen’s One to Watch in 2023, being named Great Hampshire Menu Champion and being shortlisted among the top three chefs in the UK in the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards 2024 in the Best Chef category.
