Sky Park Farm at West Harting near Petersfield is a destination in itself, worthy of a special trip for foodies or families, especially in the run-up to Christmas.
First, it’s a working deer farm set in a spectacular location, with nature trails, grazing herds and paths that wind through lush fields stretching down to the River Rother.
But that’s just the start…
Venison and butchery in the Farm Shop
Venison, of course, features in the farm shop.
The shop has an exceptional butcher’s team with more than 50 years’ experience. From farm to butcher, their venison processes are supervised by an expert Ranger team.
Deli cheese counter
There’s a fantastic cheese and deli counter with local cheeses as you would expect, and a ‘cheese of the month’. You can even fill your own milk bottle with local milk from a vending machine or create a super-fresh milkshake.
Daily specials are produced in a smoker, and Great Taste award-winning bacon and homemade biltong are just a few of the items customers travel for.
If you’re an Instagram fan the deli has its own @skyparkdeli profile.
The Farm Shop
The Farm Shop itself has an array of local produce and gifts, home-made cakes and preserves.
It even has an observational bee hive (seasonal) with a viewing panel which children (and adults) love.
Sky Park Farm Bar & Grill
The Bar & Grill, led by executive chef Sean Williams, serves classic modern British dishes in a stylish but relaxed space, perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as Sunday lunches and special occasions.
The menu is inspired by the seasons and the farm’s bounty. Here, guests can enjoy dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, including vegetarian and vegan dishes and daily specials.
Starters include the likes of Venison Pâté with onion marmalade and toast, and Sussex Charmer cheese soufflé with mustard cream and shaved Twineham Grange.
For mains think Bouillabaisse or slow-cooked beef short rib, or a Buddha Bowl with quinoa, broccoli, kale, spiced squash, roasted sprouts, pickled cabbage, edamame, cucumber, and parsnip crisps.
There’s a special children’s menu too, for the ‘little fawns.’
Family-friendly, fun and educational
The farm is passionate about connecting people, especially children, with nature offering the chance to experience the beauty of the English countryside from a working deer farm.
This is a family-friendly destination with educational and fun activities including animal encounters, an adventure playground and a long list of children’s activities and events.
The Festive Farm
As the festive season approaches, Sky Park Farm transforms into a winter wonderland with a host of Christmas activities for the whole family.
The farm’s Christmas fair will feature local artisans, festive food, and seasonal drinks, while the Christmas shop offers a range of gifts and decorations to bring the spirit of the season home.
