South Downs Sourdough
At South Downs Sourdough bakery school, the aim is to demystify sourdough bread baking with a range of half-day, one and two-day workshops, covering basic sourdough baking, the use of ancient grain flours in sourdough, baking sourdough to support health, nutrition and well-being and sourdough wood-fired pizza workshops. Learning will be practical, informative and fun, for experienced and aspiring bakers, wanting to bake their own tasty and nutritious sourdough bread at home. Additionally they provide team-building experiences based around bread and pizza making.
Courses take place at The Brick House in Cheriton, providing an environment similar to that of participants own domestic kitchens. Bakers will take away two loaves they have baked themselves, plus some 16-year-old South Downs Sourdough starter, enabling them to continue their sourdough bread journey with confidence.
All raw materials are sourced locally from Mills, Farms and local food retailers.
